Radu Albot v Liam Krall Head to Head

Albot and Krall have never faced off in a competitive match before this.

Albot’s Coming off Challenger Appearances

After starting out at the Pune Open and Australian Open and losing in the first round and qualifiers respectively there, Albot had to turn his attention to the Challenger circuit to get some rhythm going.

He featured in the Tenerife Challenger where he was dumped in the first round before taking part in Quimper two weeks ago and that’s when he won his first match of the season.

Sure, Albot hasn’t won anything on the ATP Tour but the world number 123 looked to have shrugged off some of his rustiness by making the quarterfinal at Quimper. He then fell to the 151st-ranked Geoffrey Blancaneaux in another surprise result.

Albot now faces a wildcard entrant who isn’t ranked on the ATP Tour so far. Surely that gives him a good chance to win a rare ATP match.

Krall Returns to Dallas as a Wildcard

Last season, Krall had featured in the Dallas Open qualifiers and lost in the first round. He played in a couple of Futures tournaments other than that and spent most of his time playing in the UTR Pro Match Series.

As a result of that, Krall isn’t yet ranked on the ATP Tour, having not accumulated enough points to get on board. Even Krall’s time on the juniors tour hadn’t been the best as far as a career-best junior ranking of 1679th in the world would signify.

Now making his debut at the highest level, Krall might be facing an off-colour and 123rd-ranked player but he will have to do a lot better than he has at any level to come through.

Krall’s big advantage will be his height, and at six feet two, he would look to take advantage of his serving.

Albot v Krall Prediction and Tip

Difficult to see how Krall wins this one but odds of 1/25 for an Albot win could be a tad far-fetched here.
