Marketa Vondrousova v Viktoriya Tomova Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between two players – one on the ITF circuit and the other at the WTA125 level – and Vondrousova has won them both.

Vondrousova had fallen off to 124th on the WTA Rankings list late last year and while she recovered a tad after that to make it to the top 100, she has a few miles to go before she can get the kind of consistency she would like.
The former world number 14 and French Open runner-up has started the season off reasonably well though.
She defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova in Adelaide and got the better of Ons Jabeur at the Australian Open while also registering wins over Kaia Kanepi and Alison Riske.
Unfortunately for Vondrousova she met her match against Aryna Sabalenka at the Adelaide International while talented teenage Linda Fruhvirtova got the better of her in Melbourne.
Playing in this tournament for the first time, Vondrousova will hope to pick off crucial wins over the next few months as she looks to get back into the top 50 and further on from there in the times to come.

Tomova Yet to Win a Main Draw Match This Year
The good news if you are a Tomova supporter is the manner in which she made it to the main draw here. Needing to feature in the qualifiers as a world number 101, Tomova crushed Barbara Haas in the first round and then got the better of Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the second qualifier to make the first round.
There is that other side of the story which Tomova might not like to hear.
Coming into this tournament, Tomova had featured in three others this season and hasn’t won a match. She lost to Maria Sakkari at the United Cup, failed to move past Belinda Bencic in the first round of the Australian Open and then blew a one set lead against Erika Andreeva in the Lyon Open qualifiers.
And now facing another quality player, Tomova could have her difficulties in getting through unless she can up the ante.
