JJ Wolf v Brandon Holt Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the Orlando Challenger last season where Wolf won in three sets.

A former number one collegiate player in the US, Wolf has slowly come of age at the highest level. This has been on show at different times in his short career at the highest level but never more than at the Australian Open recently.
Having never even made the main draw at a Grand Slam other than the US Open, Wolf overcame Jordan Thompson, Diego Schwartzman and Michael Mmoh to enter the fourth round of the Australian Open.
And he could have made it even further but was edged out by Ben Shelton in five sets in the round of 16.
As a result of that, Wolf has climbed up to his career-best ranking of 41st in the world and without too many points to defend from a year ago, even a decent run in a couple of tournaments this month could see him break into the top 35.

Holt Much-Improved in Recent Times
Less than 13 months ago, Holt was ranked 924th in the world. He enters this tournament on the back of successive qualifying victories and an ATP Ranking of 195th – a much improved showing over the course of the past one year enabling him that ranking change.
This included six tournament finals on the ITF circuit in 2022, of which he won five.
In 2023 itself, Holt made it through the Australian Open qualifiers to qualify for his second successive Grand Slam – having made it there at the 2022 US Open too – and then won his opening round match too.
Last year he had stunned Taylor Fritz at Flushing Meadows, this year he got past a fellow qualifier Aleksandra Vukic before Holt took Roberto Bautista Agut to five sets in the second round.
