Dusan Lajovic v Camilo Carabelli Head to Head
Lajovic and Carabelli will be facing off for the first time in their competitive careers.

Lajovic Bamboozles Baez Out
A qualifier here, Lajovic had entered the main draw on the back of just one victory all season so far. And that record isn’t an exception to the norm in recent times for Lajovic, who was once ranked 23rd in the world but has now fallen to 90th on the ATP charts.
Which is why, coming up against the Cordoba Open winner from last Sebastian Baez, Lajovic was an 8/5 underdog to stall his opponent’s winning spree.
When Lajovic lost the opening set of their first round match, those odds lengthened even further and the writing looked to be on the wall. Except, nobody looked to have given Lajovic the script, who turned the match around and won it 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3 in two hours and 32 minutes.
In a match that had 13 breaks of serves in total, Baez served for the match after taking the first set and getting 5-3 up. Lajovic broke him and took the set in a tie-breaker, before running off to a 4-0 lead in the decider.
While Baez made a last-ditch attempt to turn things around with a break in the sixth game, there was no looking back for his Serbian opponent who ran away with the match from that point on.

Carabelli Makes it Past Galan
Having qualified for the event with a victory over Facundo Bagnis in one of the qualifying rounds, Carabelli entered the main draw with enough confidence under his belt. The good news for him was he was drawn to play Daniel Elahi Galan, a player struggling for form this season.
And that’s how it panned out too with Carabelli once he had saved two set-points in the opening set of the encounter.
Carabelli, who had won just one main draw match at the highest level before this, doubled his win count with a 7-6 (7), 6-3 win in the end. It was also his first main draw victory of the year.
Earlier this season, Carabelli had made the semifinal of one of the Challenger events but his ranking has fallen to 127th from a career-best of 96th at one point. A couple of wins here will get him very close to his best again.
Lajovic v Carabelli Prediction and Tip
Lajovic is an obvious choice to make it through but given the manner in which both have played in recent times, it’s tough to distinguish between them. We think this match could see a third set too.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Three sets in the match: 5/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
- High Risk Tip: Lajovic to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with 888Sport)
