John Isner v Nick Kyrgios Head to Head
The players have met four times with the head-to-head tied at 2-2, with Isner winning the first two meetings and Kyrgios the next two.
Kyrgios Looking to Keep Dramatic Week Going
Nick Kyrgios’s 2018 ended prematurely and he had only won one match before he got to Acapulco this year. A week that started with fitness challenges only got better as he is now looking for a spot in the finals of the tournament.
Along the way, he has played some of his best tennis to defeat Rafael Nadal and Stanislas Wawrinka, who have twenty Grand Slams between them.
Kyrgios’ week has not been without its fair share of drama, with timeouts, meltdowns, crowd reactions and opponent’s losing their cool at his antics. A match full of drama against Nadal which involved underarm serving by Kyrgios and match points lost by Nadal, was followed by an equally dramatic one against Wawrinka with Kyrgios egging the crowd to ‘boo’ him, and himself hitting monstrous forehands despite cramping in the humidity.
Kyrgios brings a mix of brilliance and drama to a tennis match, and tennis enthusiasts will be hoping for the “X” factor that he adds to any contest to continue to the title stages at Acapulco.

Isner Looking to Outserve Kyrgios
American John Isner had the best year of his career in 2018 where he ended in the top ten of the year-end ATP rankings and qualified for the ATP tour finals in London, along with winning his maiden Masters 1000 title in Miami.
2019 did not get off to the best of starts for the American, but he has now made it past the quarter final stages of ATP tournaments three weeks in a row. Isner has been in typically good serving form and will be hoping the outdoor hard courts of Acapulco continue to favor his huge serving game.
Isner has looked better with every tournament and this week looked better with every match. Although he has been put under pressure by opponents, he was able to dispose off Adrian Mannarino, Sam Query and John Milman on the back of some consisting serving and regularly aggressive forehand winners.
John Isner v Nick Kyrgios Tips & Predictions
Kyrgios has been in supreme form this week, playing excellent tennis to defeat Rafael Nadal and Stan Wawrinka. If Kyrgios continues the form he has been in, he starts as a favorite against most players on the tour.
However, the biggest challenge to the Aussie Kyrgios, is himself. Among the more temperamental players on the circuit, Kyrgios is as unpredictable as they come. Expect an intriguing clash between Kyrgios’s powerful serve/forehand combination against the giant serving Isner. A lot of big serves on the cards; expect Kyrgios to win in three well fought sets.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 8/5 (Betway)
