Rebecca Peterson v Caty McNally Head to Head
There have been no previous meetings between these two players on the WTA circuit. They did face off at the ITF level in 2019 and McNally had won that in straight sets.

Peterson Shocks Linette
Magda Linette has had such a brilliant year, it was no surprise she was a 9/20 favourite going into her quarterfinal against Peterson. That Peterson won was surprising enough but for her to do that so easily definitely takes the cake for the Swede.
Peterson was on court for an hour and 48 minutes before she dished out a 6-2, 6-4 defeat to the 21st-ranked Linette. And while Peterson did face 10 break-points in the match, she was broken just once in entirety and in turn dished out four breaks of serves.
It was in her very first service game of the match where Peterson struggled to get going. Serving to level things out at 1-1, Peterson needed to save eight break-points in that second game of the match but what was interesting to see was once she had done that, she followed it up with back to back breaks of serves.
It had been a stunning turnaround.
In the second set Peterson went 5-1 up in a jiffy and while she failed to serve out the first time, the Swede followed it up with the win the second time she had a chance to do so.
Can she keep up her winning form that has already seen her register wins over Nadia Podoroska and Alycia Parks as well in this tournament?

McNally an Easy Winner over Birrell
Much like Peterson, McNally did not waste a lot of time in getting past Kimberly Birrell in the quarterfinal as she defeated the Aussie player in straight sets.
In a match lasting an hour and 45 minutes, McNally overcame four breaks of serves to win 6-4, 6-3 and enter the semifinals having earlier done the same in 2019 for the first time in her career.
Having shocked Lin Zhu in the first round and overcome Katie Volynets in the second, McNally was down a break in the seventh game of the opening set but came back by breaking her opponent twice in a row to win the set.
Four successive breaks of serves took the pair to 4-3 in the second set before McNally broke her opponent yet again. She served it out off the next game to cruise through to the next stage.
Against the experience of Peterson, McNally might need to work her way around but she sure looks like she could do a decent job of that.
Peterson v McNally Prediction and Tip
Not much to choose between these two but we will have to go with the younger, more agile McNally who has been dispatching opponents for fun all tournament here.
