Federer Looking to Continue Strong Form From Dubai
Number four seed Roger Federer begin his Indian Wells campaign, fresh from winning the Dubai ATP 500 tournament and in turn winning his 100th ATP title. Federer is a five time Indian Wells winner and will be looking to overcome the disappointment from the final loss to Juan Martin del Potro, after having championship points, with a strong showing again.
Federer was not in his best form in the early stages of the Dubai Open, but was able to shake off the initial rust, and put up a vintage display in the semi-finals and finals to capture the title. He will be hoping to continue the form here at Indian Wells.
Indian Wells has been a happy hunting ground for Federer as both he and Novak Djokovic hold the most number of titles with five championship wins here.

Gojowczyk ranked 85th in the world had a disappointing second run loss at the Mexican Open in Acapulco winning only two games against Australian John Milman. However, he seems to have recovered fast with a sold performance against Italian Andreas Seppi in the first round at Indian Wells winning 7-5,6-4 with a very strong performance.
Gojowczyk has been ranked as high as number 39 in the world winning the 2017ATP 250 at Metz and being a runner up in the 2018 Delray Beach Open.

Gojowczyk has a powerful game and a solid serve and has shown he can make inroads on the circuit. However, given the form and confidence Federer is coming off, it will be hard for Gojowczyk to trouble the Swiss legend. Expect a routine Federer win in straight sets.
