Rain forced Novak Djokovic’s third round match at the Indian Wells Masters against Philipp Kohlschreiber to be pushed to Tuesday and it will be played at Stadium 1.
Djokovic was leading 1-0 in the first set when the heavens opened and the two players were soon ushered back into the locker rooms as a result. The rain did not relent for over an hour and in the meantime a decision was taken to postpone the encounter to the next day.
What this means is that the Djokovic-Kohlschreiber match is now scheduled to be the third match of the day on Court 1 after the Kiki Bertens-Garbine Muguruza and Rafael Nadal-Diego Schwartzman encounter. According to Tuesday’s order of play, Bertens, Nadal, Djokovic and Venus Williams will also play back to back before the evening session will have Roger Federer taking to court.
Federer will be playing fellow Swiss Stan Wawrinka in their third round match before the day ends with Angelique Kerber taking on Aryna Sabalenka.
