Adrian Mannarino v Radu Albot Head to Head

World No. 35 Adrian Mannarino began his Singapore Tennis Open campaign with a straight sets win over Italy’s Roberto Marcora in the Round of 16 on Thursday.

The left-handed Frenchman, who received a first-round bye in the competition, beat the 191st-ranked Italian 6-3, 7-5.

Seeded first in the tournament, the 32-year-old won 79% of his first serve points, saved all three break points he faced and converted three of 10 to dispatch the Italian in an hour and 44 minutes.

Mannarino, who won two matches in a row at the 2021 Australian Open for the second time in 12 main draw appearances, improved to 4-3 this year.

The Frenchman is aiming to add to his only career title he won at ’s-Hertogenbosch in 2019. He has featured in 10 tour finals but has finished runner-up on nine occasions.

Albot Holds Off Hanfmann Challenge

World No. 76 Radu Albot showed nerves of steel as he fended off multiple match points to beat Germany’s Yannick Hanfmann in the Round of 16 on Thursday.

The Moldovan, who needed three sets to beat Australia’s John Patrick Smith in the first round, saved three match points to down the 105th-ranked Hanfmann 6-7 (2-7), 7-6 (9-7), 6-3.

Albot won 117 of 226 points in the match and converted four of 10 break points against three of nine by his opponent to win the grueling contest in two hours and 43 minutes.

On Tuesday, Albot had needed 90 minutes to beat the Aussie 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in the first round.

The win over Hanfmann, improved the sixth seed Albot to 4-3 this year. After making first-round exits in Antalya and Melbourne warm-up, Albot won his first two matches at the Australian Open, defeating Roberto Bautista Agut and Christopher O’Connell before falling to Casper Ruud in a four-set third-round encounter.

The winner of Delray Beach Open in 2019, Albot was 7-12 last year, having reached the quarterfinals in Cologne and Sofia.

Mannarino v Albot Prediction and Tip

Both players have shown good form. While Mannarino won his only match of the tournament convincingly, Albot had to sweat it out in the first two rounds. Expect the Moldovan to give the top seed a tough time on Friday, with the winner needing three sets to advance.
