Stefanos Tsitsipas v Taylor Fritz Preview
Despite Stefanos Tsitsipas entering the Laver Cup on the back of four successive defeats on the ATP circuit, it’s been a season to cherish for the Greek. It can easily count as his breakthrough season, where he shocked Roger Federer at the Australian Open, made it to four ATP finals and won two of them.
Even the ones that he lost, were at the hands of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, and that should give him a lot of confidence anyway. Those four successive defeats recently, were also followed by a few Davis Cup victories but against very low-ranked opponents.
Fritz is 30th in the world, but he does like playing on hard court surfaces, having made the final at Los Cabos and Atlanta Open. However, those two were followed by three early exits, much like Tsitsipas and that makes this an interesting contest.
Tsitsipas’ experience in indoor courts – he has seven matches this year to his opponent’s zero – makes him a strong favourite going into this encounter.
Tip: Tsitsipas to win: 1/2 with 888Sport

Roger Federer/Alexander Zverev v Denis Shapovalov/Jack Sock Preview
In the first edition of the Laver Cup, Roger Federer’s only doubles match had come up with Rafael Nadal as his partner, and they had gone down to Sam Querrey and Jack Sock. Then he teamed up with Novak Djokovic in the second edition but lost to Kevin Anderson and Sock.
And then came his third doubles match at the Laver Cup in which he partnered with Alexander Zverev for the first time. It was on the third day of the competition last year, and hence was for three points, which he lost again. For the third time it was Sock, who this time combined with John Isner to win the match.
Federer comes to this match Zverev again and the funny bit is that he will be facing Sock for the fourth time but this time around, there’s a new partner for the American again. Sock will team up with Canadian Denis Shapovalov to try and earn his side a point.
We think there might be a change in fortunes and Federer might actually manage to win this one with Zverev for a change given Sock’s overall fortunes have receded with his fall in the rankings.
Tip: Federer/Zverev to win (Best odds with 888Sport)
