Daniil Medvedev v Borna Coric Preview
Rising young stars Daniil Medvedev and Borna Coric meet in the final of the ATP 250 at St. Petersburg. They met four times last year, with Medvedev winning the first of them at Wimbledon in straight sets, but that was followed by three straight set wins for Coric at the Cincinnati Masters, the US Open and the Paris Masters.
Daniil Medvedev has had a phenomenal summer as he is in his fifth consecutive final, seeking his third ATP title of the year. The Russian won the ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati and played an epic US Open final against Rafael Nadal, in what were the highlights of his summer on the US hard courts.
He has qualified for the year end ATP Finals in London already, the only one outside the ‘Big Three’ thus far. He is yet to drop a set this week, and has looked to carry forward his form from the US Open and before.
