Marton Fucsovics v Lloyd Harris Head to Head

The pair have met once before in Chengdu in 2019, Harris coming from behind to win in three sets.

Fucsovics Maintaining Rotterdam Form

Fucsovics is in excellent form right now, having come through qualifying in Rotterdam, and then going on to reach the final, before eventually losing to Andrey Rublev.

And he appears to have carried that form through to Doha, judging by his first-round victory over the world 27, Dusan Lajovic, in straight sets on Tuesday.

The first set was tight, but it was Fucsovics who dropped his serve first, only to break straight back, He then forced a series of break points, could not convert them and the set went to a breaker.

Fucsovics was faultless on serve, the Serb dropped his twice, and the Hungarian claimed the set.

The second set began with several long rallies and Fucsovics was threatened on his serve, However, he withstood the pressure, broke Lajovic, and then broke the Serb once more to seal the victory.

Harris Upsets Wawrinka

The South African number two was a qualifier in Doha, beating Lukas Lacko of Serbia to earn a place in the main draw where he was paired with the number seven seed, Stan Wawrinka, in the first round.

The first serve saw serve dominate, although Harris had to save four break points in his opening serve game.

Save them he did though, and it went to a tie-break where it was Wawrinka who faltered first and Harris capitalised to take the set.

The second set was a mirror image of the first, except that this time it was Wawrinka who set the pace in the tie-break, and the Swiss was able to level the match.

Wawrinka began the third set badly by dropping his serve, but he used all his experience to break back. The match looked like it was heading to another tie-break when, just at the wrong moment – or the right one for Fucsovics – Wawrinka dropped his serve once more.

Harris needed no second opportunity, and served out to love.

Fucsovics v Harris Prediction and Tip

Harris won their previous encounter, but the Hungarian is the man in form right now. If both play to their potential this could be a very good and closely fought match.

Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (bet365)
