Veronika Kudermetova v Ana Bogdan Head to Head
The pair have met thrice on the WTA tour in the past and it is the Romanian Bogdan, who has won each of those three encounters.
Kudermetova and Bogdan’s rivalry began in the year 2014, when Bogdan defeated her in three sets in Namangan. Bogdan followed that victory with wins over the Russian in Hua Hin and in the Fed Cup in 2017 and 2020 respectively.

Kudermetova Extends Winning Streak
23-year-old Kudermetova has reached new heights in 2021 and currently, she is on an eight match winning streak. Certainly, the Kazan native has been one of the most improved players on the women’s circuit. Her recent results have greatly contributed to her new found confidence and her ability to adapt to any situation whatsoever on the court.
Before winning the title in Charleston last week against the in-form Danka Kovinic of Montenegro, Kudermetova had also made it through to the final in Abu Dhabi.
Particularly, Kudermetova’s form on clay has been simply sensational and she has dominated her rivals to such an extent that, except one, all her victories have been in straight sets.
Even though, she faced a tough test against Bernarda Pera of the United States in her Istanbul opener, Kudermetova showed nerves of steel to edge out the American in an extremely close third set tiebreaker. However, she was never in any trouble whatsoever in her second round clash against Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi as she outclassed her 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday.

Bogdan Finds Form in Istanbul
For a place in the quarterfinals, Kudermetova will up against her nemesis Ana Bogdan, who has beaten her in all their previous matches. If that wasn’t scary enough, Bogdan has found her form just in time for her contest against the Russian.
The Romanian, who had lost to Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus in the first round of the tournament in St. Petersburg, hammered the Japanese Nao Hibino 6-3, 6-3 in her opener in Turkey.
Subsequently, she came across Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic in the second round and yet again, she wasted little time in outsmarting her opponent 6-3, 6-3 on Thursday.
Kudermetova v Bogdan Prediction and Tip
While, there’s no doubt about the fact that Kudermetova have never beaten Bogdan in the past, but her sensational form right now will surely help her in breaking the Bogdan hoodoo in the Istanbul quarterfinals. Expecting Kudermetova’s winning streak to continue in Turkey.
Tip: Kudermetova to win in three sets: 3/1 (bet365)
