According to reports, the first tournament to be played for the season would be the United Cup, a competition that will replace the ATP Cup and will see the top men and women players feature in a first of its kind country-versus-country competition that will also award ranking points.
The ATP Tour will consist of tournaments played under the ATP 1000, ATP 500 and ATP 250 banner with Grand Slams, ATP Finals and the United Cup to also see participating from the men’s players. The Davis Cup offers no points.
On the WTA circuit, the players will compete in the WTA 1000, WTA 500 and WTA 250 tournaments along with the Grand Slams and United Cup. There will also be the WTA Finals at the end of the season. The women’s players will also participate in the Billie Jean King Cup.
Other than that there will be a few new tennis tournaments which will also be announced at some stage in the lead-up to the start of the season.
The four Grand Slams on show, the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open will be held as usual in the months of January, May-June, July and August-September 2023 respectively.
Nine Masters 1000 and nine WTA 1000 tournaments will also be held in 2023, with most of the top 10 players vying for the top prize. Joining the Indian Wells Open and Miami Open there will be other competitions which will last more than a week this time around.
